EARSWICK NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
The draft Neighbourhood Plan for Earswick has been updated to reference the recently published City of York Local Plan. In addition the proposed Policy on the Green Belt has also being amended to reflect a similar Policy contained within the approved Upper and Nether Poppleton neighbourhood Plan. The main advantage of basing it on a similar policy in an Approved Plan is that it greatly increases the chances it will be approved by the Examiner.
The basic premise of the Earswick Neighbourhood Plan, that there should be no further development on the existing Green Belt, remains unchanged.
As a result of these changes it has become necessary to re-‐consult with residents, landowners, businesses and the necessary statutory bodies to give their views.
There will be a nine week period to do this commencing on 4th December 2017 and closing on 5th February 2018.
An exhibition of the draft plan will be held on Friday 15th December 2017 in the Earswick Village Hall between 3.00pm-‐7.00pm.
Hard copies of the Draft Plan and Representation Forms can be requested from:
The Clerk to the Council, Joanne Fisher: Tel: 01904 758615 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org

Following the public consultation process on the Draft Neighbourhood Plan, the Plan will be amended and submitted to City of York Council together with supporting documentation, including a Basic Conditions Statement and Consultation Statement setting out who has been consulted, how the consultation has been undertaken and how the representations received have informed the Plan.
City of York Council will then re-‐consult, before the Plan is subjected to an Examination by an Independent Examiner. Once any further amendments have been made to the Plan it will be subjected to a local referendum, and then “Made” by City of York Council and used to determine planning applications in Earswick Parish.
If you require any further information please contact the Parish Clerk at the address provided above.
